iGolf Triton Golf GPS Review...

iGolf Triton Golf GPS Review The iGolf Triton is one of the newest golf GPS devices from the makers of the iGolf Neo GPS. The iGolf Triton is a step up from the neo but doesn't have all of the capacity and color screen of the iGolf Saturn. Instead the Triton has a grayscale LCD and can display the shape and layout of each green along with the needed distances to any point on the green from your location.

Greyscale Screen

The Triton is a Grayscale GPS unit, and provides a larger 120x160 pixel LCD screen for easier reading. It is still a smaller device that can be handled with ease on the golf course. The unit displays the accurate shape and layout of each hole providing valuable information to hit your approach shot into the green.

Storage

The iGolf Triton has expanded upon some of the limitations of the iGolf neo. The Triton can now hold 15 GPS golf courses instead of the limited 10 courses on the neo. Having 15 courses loaded at once is nice, but not as many as the Saturn which holds 100 courses. The course map files can still be stored on your computer, so it is easy to transfer map files to the device to change your selection.

On Board Statistics

The unit now allows you to keep statistics and scoring on your unit. Now you can keep your score on the digital device along with indepth statistics. When you are finished with your round, you can plug the unit into your computer through the USB cable, and upload your scores and stats right to your computer.

Distances

The unit includes the popular shot distance calculator that was available with the iGolf neo. This allows you to calculate the shot distance of any club for every shot. This is an excellent tool to keep track of the distances you hit each club.

Connectivity

In order to download pre-mapped golf courses you will need a Windows Vista, Windows XP or Windows 2000 enabled computer with a USB port. A subscription to iGolf will be needed to download pre-mapped courses. The subscription is a minimal amount, and you can download the course files and keep them on your computer.
